Nobody imagined when the all-volunteer Vancouver Queer Film Festival was launched in 1989 that it would someday be Vancouver’s second largest film festival. Two decades later, the 20^th Anniversary Vancouver Queer Film Festival will feature 114 films. A remarkable success story in an era of increasing challenges for the arts community.

This year’s Vancouver Queer Film Festival, starts at Aug 14th, promises to continue a now rich tradition of presenting films telling the unique stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people from different generations and cultures.
