Nobody imagined when the all-volunteer Vancouver Queer Film Festival was launched in 1989 that it would someday be Vancouver’s second largest film festival. Two decades later, the 20th Anniversary Vancouver Queer Film Festival will feature 114 films. A remarkable success story in an era of increasing challenges for the arts community.
This year’s Vancouver Queer Film Festival, starts at Aug 14th, promises to continue a now rich tradition of presenting films telling the unique stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people from different generations and cultures.
