Update to Gambian President Yahya Jammeh’s Hatred

May 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

We recently declared Gambian President Yahya Jammeh our Homophobe of the Week for his continuous remarks about Gambian gay people. Well, it seems he also said he would behead any gay person left in the country at last week’s speech, according to news.com.au:

“The Gambia is a country of believers … sinful and immoral practices (such) as homosexuality will not be tolerated in this country,” the president told a crowd at a political rally on May 15, local journalists said today.

He went on to say he would “cut off the head” of any gay person caught in The Gambia.
