T.R. Knight, as you know, is the the openly gay actor who plays Dr. George O’Malley from Grey’s Anatomy. Knight has committed himself to participate in the National Day of Silence ceremony at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Los Angeles, reports E! Online. The National Day of Silence is sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network to help combat bullying and harassment of gays in schools. Friday April 25th is this year’s day, and it will be marked by students across the country in over 6500 schools. The Day involves students taking vows of silence during parts or the entire day at school and home. This year is the 12th year of the National Day of Silence, and is dedicated to Lawrence King, a 15-year-old California boy who was shot to death in February by a fellow student, because King asked the other kid to be his Valentine.

What an honour to get a message from someone personally involved in a story we reported and in the National Day of Silence!
If you or your friends would like to send us your experiences we’d be happy to post it as an article.
