The Norwegian government has proposed a new “Marriage Act” that will extend the right to marry to queer couples. Presently, gay and lesbian adults are permitted to enter civil unions, but with the new act, they’ll be able to marry.
A new poll of Norwegians, says that’s great! The poll was carried out by Norstat for the newspaper Vårt Land found that 58 percent of those surveyed said they supported the new Marriage Act, and 31 percent were against it. The remainder either were uncertain or had no opinion.
