A mother has been sentenced to jail for 150 days, and her daughter given a community sentence of 2 years after being found guilty of harassing a gay couple in Kent, England. During the four day trial, the court heard how Karen Reeves, 44, and her daughter Christie Myles, 22, began harassing Michael Harris and Shires Crichton, of Kingston, Kent, when both men sided with another neighbour in an ongoing dispute.
In what is considered a ‘campaign of hate’, that lasted over 3 months, the tag team mom and daughter chased one down with their car, taunted them with names, and much more. The mother and daughter also showed no remorse in court.
Reeves and Myles were also made the subject of a restraining order banning them from the village of Kingston for five years and having any contact with Mr Harris and Mr Crighton.
