Duffy, the Welsh singer sitting happily at number 3 on the British Billboards with her album Rockferry, is set to release her album this week in the U.S. Along with Adele (who is TRULY PHENOMENAL), Duffy is considered one of the “new Amy”s (with reference to Amy Winehouse).
Here’s a brief review of her cd from NewsOK:
“The Welsh chanteuse’s clear but sultry vocal style channels Dusty Springfieldwith hints of early Marianne Faithfulland Diana Ross. The singer-songwriter, who co-wrote all 10 tracks on “Rockferry,”
creates a brand of Motown- and Stax-inspired rock that sounds at once modern and old-fashioned.”
